Connect your Garden without bluetooth
April 7 2023 10:30pm • Est. Read Time: 2 MINIf you do not enable the proper permissions on your phone or have other issues, you may be guided to using the Wi-Fi feature of the Rise Garden to connect your garden to the internet. This approach requires you to temporarily connect your phone to the Rise Garden via Wi-Fi to provide your home Wi-Fi credentials so that it can connect to the internet.
Before you get started
✅ Verify your router support 2.4GHz (most home routers do)
✅ Verify that you get a strong wireless signal in the location of your garden (use your mobile phone to check the wireless strength near your garden)
✅ Make sure you know your Wi-Fi credentials (Network name and password)
✅ Cycle the power on your garden (unplug the power, wait 30 seconds and plug back in)
Connecting
The application will first try to connect to your garden via Bluetooth and then when it is unable to, it will guide you down the Wi-Fi connection option.
The first step is to connect your phone to the Wi-Fi signal that the garden is broadcasting.
To do this, go to your phones Wi-Fi settings and look for a Wi-Fi network name that begins with “rise_” and has some numbers and letters after it. Each garden has a unique Wi-Fi network name.
Note, some phones may warn you that you are connected to a Wi-Fi network that is not connected to the internet. This is OK. Remain connected to this “rise_###” network if asked.
Next return back the application, where you will be asked for your own Wi-Fi network name and password.
When you click continue the application will perform some checks and send this information to the garden so that it can connect to your home Wi-Fi. Once that is done, it will reboot (cycle power) your garden and begin verifying it is successfully connected to the internet and the Rise Gardens system.
At that point you can return to your garden and enjoy!
