Switching from Liquid Nutrients to Dry Nutrients

June 30 2024 11:25pm • Est. Read Time: 2 MIN

We have completely transitioned from using Liquid Nutrients to Dry Nutrients. Our nutrients now include Dry Sprout and Dry Blossom plus pH! Unlike our liquid nutrients, we will no longer carry Thrive. Moving forward you will only need Dry Blossom and Dry Sprout since they already have Thrive in their mix.

Once you are ready to transition, you will be asked during Smart Care to choose the type of nutrients you will be using:

When switching nutrients you must refresh your garden’s water. Since your nutrient profile is going to change substantially, it's best to start fresh! The main reason to refresh is that similar to keeping Liquid Sprout and Liquid Thrive separate, there can be interactions between your Liquid Thrive and your Dry Sprout. This may lead to buildup that can clog your pump.

Because you need to refresh your garden’s water before transitioning from liquid to dry nutrients, you may need to remove water from your garden while your plants are still growing. Please follow the directions below:

Cleaning My Family Garden Without Harvesting My Plants

  1. To do this, wait until your water level is close to 1 blue so that you don't have to move as much water.

  2. Using a large plastic container or several small ones, have someone help you pull out your plant trays and place them into your container. Be careful, as your roots will drip garden water onto your floor.

  3. Once your tray is empty, you can use a sponge or squeegee to push your water down your drain, located on the left-hand side of your garden.

  4. Repeat this process for all your levels.

  5. Once all your plants are back inside your dry trays, pull out your pump and remove your water reservoir, which contains all the water you pushed down from each level.

  6. Pour it out and rinse it clean before putting it back under your garden and replacing your pump.

  7. Refill with cold tap water, and be sure to select that you have cleaned your garden on your app. Also, be sure to switch from liquid nutrients to dry nutrients in the care settings of your app.

  8. Now you are ready to run care with dry nutrients!
