Why are my plants growing so slow?
August 29 2024 5:54pm • Est. Read Time: 2 MINGrowth issues in plants can often be linked to improper water pH, which affects nutrient availability. For hydroponics, the optimal pH range is 5.5 to 6.5, known as the GROW ZONE. Deviations from this range can lead to nutrient deficiencies and stunting growth. Maintaining the correct pH is essential for healthy plant development.
To address this our Plant Team has asked that you take steps to monitor your pH. To monitor pH you have 2 options. Follow the links for our recommended monitoring tools. Other tools may also work well to monitor pH.
pH Balance Strips ($3.99)
Purchase a pH meter ($70-$80)
In the meantime, our Plant Team suggests that you also follow these steps to minimize damage to your plants until the problem is resolved.
Refresh your Garden’s water: Refreshing the water in your Garden can help maintain the pH level. When you add fresh water, it dilutes the existing nutrients and can help balance the pH. This ensures that the new water has the correct pH level for optimal plant growth. To do so, please follow along this video: Rise Garden 30 Minute Quick Clean.
Cut your nutrients and pH in half: After refreshing your Garden’s water, ensure that you cut your nutrients and pH in half on your next Smart Care, as this will help balance your pH.
I have monitored my pH, now what?
If pH is too high: Adding 1mL (1 squirt) of pH balance will lower your pH 0.5
If pH is too low: Perform a water tank refresh as listed above
Please note that, once these changes have been implemented, keep in mind that you won't see any plant changes for at least 2 weeks. If the same issue persists, please follow up with our Support Team so we can further assist.
