This article describes the basic procedure for disassembling and roughly cleaning the inside of a DC30 pump. If you wish to remove white residue on the outside of the pump, wipe it with a sponge or towel soaked in white vinegar. Do not use apple cider vinegar.
Remove pump from system.
Gather the following materials:
- Pliers or adjustable wrench, to remove the nozzle
- Non-scratch sponge or similar, to scrub off mineral buildup
- Towel or rag, to catch drips and protect work surface
Remove nozzle by twisting counterclockwise with pliers or wrench.
Remove any debris trapped in nozzle.
Carefully remove rotor from pump housing.
Gently scrub any mineral buildup off of the ceramic rotor.
Examine pump housing. Remove any hair, dirt, or other debris.
Return rotor to housing.
Screw nozzle into the pump housing, clockwise.
Tighten nozzle with pliers or wrench.
Test pump underwater before replacing in system.
