Adding Nutrients without a Smartphone

Read Time: 2 MINWhile our app provides precise nutrient calculations tailored to your plant's specific needs, we understand that some gardeners prefer a hands-on approach without relying on smartphone apps. While growing with Rise Gardens is still possible, it will be significantly more challenging. To manually add nutrients to your Garden, follow these recommendations:
Personal Garden
Add 1/2 tsp of Sprout or Blossom per gallon of water added during weekly care
The Personal Garden water tank is one gallon, which means 1/2 tsp is the max dose
If you are adding only a 1/2 gallon of water, you should add 1/4 tsp of nutrients
Family Rise Garden & Rise Garden 2 & Rise Garden 3
Add 1 tsp of Sprout or Blossom per gallon of water added during weekly care
If you add 3 gallons of water, you'll add 3 tsp of nutrients
Tools to Optimize Your Garden's Health
To ensure optimal plant growth, we recommend consistently tracking your garden's health using the following tools.
To keep your garden thriving, regularly monitor your garden’s EC (Electrical Conductivity) and pH levels. An EC meter, like this one HERE, measures nutrient strength. Maintaining a balanced EC is vital for healthy plant growth. Too low, and your plants may suffer from nutrient deficiencies. To keep track they ask that you follow this general rule:
Young plants (0-30 days old) Need EC = 1.6, pH 5.8
Mid-growth plants (40-90 days old) Need EC = 2, pH 5.8
Late-stage growth (100-150 days old) Need EC 2.5 pH 5.8-6
In addition to tracking the EC in your garden, maintaining a healthy pH level is crucial for vibrant plant growth. Proper pH balance ensures optimal nutrient absorption, keeping your plants happy and thriving.
Regularly monitor your soil's pH levels using pH test strips like these HERE. A balanced pH ensures optimal nutrient absorption. For hydroponic systems, aim for a pH of 5.5 to 6.5, the ideal "GROW ZONE.
