Dry Nutrients 101
July 1 2024 5:32am • Est. Read Time: 2 MINDry nutrients are simpler to add to your Garden because they combine the micronutrients of Thrive and the macronutrients Sprout and Blossom into one powder. Our dry nutrients are a much more balanced blend of fertilizers and contain zero water, making them more environmentally friendly to ship, and they do not need a plastic bottle to store.
To accommodate the needs of your Garden, we have created two different sizes, Personal Garden 30 grams & Rise Garden 150 grams.

FAQ’s
Should I pre-mix my powdered nutrients before adding it to the Garden?
Nope! Our specially formulated blend of hydroponic nutrient powder will dissolve inside the flowing water of your Garden. You may need to rinse out your Fill Corner as you add nutrients to flush it into your reservoir.
Can I switch back and forth from dry to liquid if I run out of one of the nutrients?
No, once you start dry nutrients, you should only use dry nutrients and pH Balance. Switching between them will cause issues with specific nutrients building up in your Garden and confusing your app.
What happened to Thrive?
In the process of figuring out how to remove the water, we stabilized our nutrient blend, removing the need to keep our liquid sprout/blossom ingredients separate from the thrive ingredients. This let us simplify the nutrient adding process for you! So think of Dry Sprout like Liquid Sprout and Thrive, and Dry Blossom like Liquid Blossom and Thrive. pH Balance is the same as always though!
Are dry nutrients safe for my children to use?
While the powder is not recommended for use by children, with proper supervision, the material can be safely added to the Garden. The powdered nutrients should not be inhaled and direct contact with the skin can lead to irritation. We recommend using the same precaution as a powered detergent.
What do I do if my dry nutrients clump up?
Your dry nutrients can be broken up if slight pressure is applied to the hardened powder. This will allow you to obtain smaller pieces so that you may correctly dose your nutrients into your Garden.
What do I do if I run out of Dry Sprout or Dry Blossom?
Because your Dry Sprout is similar to your Dry Blossom product, in a pinch, you can substitute one for the other. This swapping can occur without any recalculation of your nutrients, so simply add the same tsp of Sprout or Blossom that your app is asking for. This can be done without a large impact on growth for up to two weeks before your plants may react, so this should be plenty of time to reorder, or push up your subscription.
The major downsides of swapping are a potential 20% loss in yield from your fruiting plants (when swapping for Blossom) and a 15% slower growth rate from your vegetative plants (when swapping for Sprout). So its not the end of the world, but you should try and get on
track asap!
