Family Rise Garden: Incorrect Water Level Lights

November 19 2024 6:13am • Est. Read Time: 2 MIN

Your water-level sensor (ultrasonic sensor) is responsible for measuring the height of the water level in your Family Rise Garden’s reservoir.

The measurements displayed should match where the water level is the water reservoir:

  • Five red lights: water tank overfull

  • Five blue lights: water tank full

  • Four blue lights: water tank ~75%

  • Three blue lights: water tank ~50%

  • Two blue lights: water tank ~25%

  • One blue light: water tank low

  • One red light: water tank very low

Below are some examples of the water level lights at work!

Common Water Sensor Issues

Water Sensor is reading the incorrect water levels: If your sensor is getting a reading that is NOT the correct water level of your Garden, it can mean that there is something blocking the ultrasonic sensor.

Here are a few solutions to try:

  1. Push your water reservoir all the way to the back left corner of the cabinet -- this sometimes obstructs the sensor and prevents it from accurately reading the water level.

  1. Check to make sure that the tank lid or another object (boxes or cables) is not blocking the ultrasonic sensor over the tank. (Please ensure that the water pump cable and supply line are positioned as indicated in the photo below).

If this doesn't work, you can try these steps to check the connection of your sensor:

  1. Unplug your Garden from power. Wait 30 seconds

  1. Unplug your ultrasonic sensor from your Garden’s control board. Wait 10 seconds

  1. Plug the cable for the sensor back into the control board. Make sure that the sticker side of the sensor’s cable is facing the inside of your cabinet (towards the left)

  1. Plug your Garden back in to get power

Please also verify that all of the other electronic components of your Garden are functioning correctly.

Water Level Lights Are Not Displaying: If your water level lights are not displaying this may indicate an issue with another Garden Part.

Try these steps to check the connection of your sensor:

  1. Unplug your Garden from power. Wait 30 seconds

  1. Unplug your ultrasonic sensor and UX Board from your Garden’s control board. Wait 10 seconds

  1. Plug the cable for the sensor and ux board back into the control board. Make sure that the sticker side of the sensor’s cable is facing the inside of your cabinet (towards the left)

  1. Plug your Garden back in to get power. Do the water levels appear?

If none of the above steps help to solve your issue with your sensor, please reach out to us and provide the following information:

  • What is the email address you use to log into the Rise Gardens app?

  • Please describe the issue you're experiencing with your Garden in detail.

  • Please provide photos of your water sensor

  • Photo of your water tank

  • The setup of your control board (the hub inside the cabinet doors)

  • The water-level lights on the front of your cabinet.

Please make sure that the photos are well-lit and show any visible damage present to the parts in question, if applicable.
