Can I use liquid nutrients and dry nutrients together?

We recommend that you stick to one type of nutrient when taking care of your garden. This is also how the app functions. You have to select dry or liquid nutrients so that you receive the correct instruction when it's time to add water and nutrients to the garden. The best way to switch to dry nutrients is either to use the remaining nutrients in your garden or to use them for other plants like houseplants you may have at home.

How do I properly dispose of my liquid nutrients?

Our nutrients are considered a concentrated liquid fertilizer and therefore should be sent through your local wastewater municipal system in small volumes. You should dilute your nutrients with equal parts tap water in order to limit the flux of nutrients entering the system at one time. This looks like turning on your sink and slowly emptying your nutrients down the drain. This ensures that your wastewater is properly processed by your water reclamation center and will not enter local ecosystems and cause damage to wildlife. For more information on how to handle and dispose of your nutrients, you can contact your local wastewater reclamation center as they will be able to provide specific information for your state and township.

How do I use my liquid nutrients for my non-Rise plants?

Your nutrients are designed to be used in a hydroponic Garden with crops and other edible plants. However, our nutrient blend can also be used on house plants and outdoor plants if diluted properly. For house plants, it is recommended adding only 5mL of Sprout / Blossom and 5mL of Thrive per gallon of water with a feeding rate of once per month, depending on the season and the plant. For outdoor plants, you can increase the volume of nutrients as they will have a higher capacity for growth, so you can use 15mL Sprout / Blossom and 15mL of Thrive per gallon for soil beds with mature plants. The feeding rate should be based on your plants size and the type of plant you are growing.

Shelflife and storage of liquid nutrients

Our liquid nutrients should last around 1 year after purchase. After this time, the possibility of growing algae within the bottle increases. Once algae grows inside of your bottle, the algae cells eventually will break down and bacteria may begin to form. Once this occurs, it is not recommended to use the nutrients in your Garden, and they should be disposed of.

To keep your nutrients stored properly, they should be kept in complete darkness in a cool environment with low humidity and consistent temperature. If your bottles freeze, you risk breaking the seal and letting in contaminants, or spilling. If your temperature rises above 90 degrees, you risk contamination as warm water can bread bacteria over long periods of time.

The best location for your nutrients is a dark sealed container in a room temperature environment.
